PFLAG Fresno is a volunteer group of parents, family and friends of people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT). We welcome all caring persons, including the GLBT community to our meetings and membership. We meet on the second Sunday of each month.

Our Mission

  • Discovering that a family member or friend is gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender can be difficult. You might experience conflicting feelings or thoughts. Sharing in dialogue with other PFLAG parents and family members, and getting to know some wonderful gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender persons, is a pathway to understanding, acceptance, and renewed family relationships.
  • PFLAG supports persons through Confidential support group meetings.
  • PFLAG provides support through their Helpline.

  • PFLAG provides educational booklets.
  • PFLAG Fresno has a lending library of books and video tapes which are available at our monthly meetings.
  • PFLAG Fresno has placed books with gay and lesbian themes into the Fresno City High School libraries.
  • Through the media and local speakers' bureau, our member' profound first-person accounts shape how people view and treat our loved ones.

  • As loving parents, family members, and friends, we work to secure equal civil rights for all people, especially our gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender loved ones.
  • PFLAG responds to local, state and national issues with public statements, educational materials, public appearances and interviews. At a National level PFLAG provides expert testimony at governmental hearings whenever needed.
  • Telling the personal stories of our families and loved ones offers the most compelling testimony the public can hear.
